Field Trip to France

Representatives of local authorities, project partners, and Palestinian ministries totaled 31 people that traveled to France for a field trip of heritage preservation and promotion from February 3-9, 2020. The experiences that the group undertook were related to different aspects of French maintenance, preservation and promotion of heritage sites.

The group was able to travel across different parts of France with a distinct emphasis on different aspects of the preservation of heritage sites. By meeting with French organizations and local authorities, the group was able to build an extended network and share experiences around common topics.

A level of understanding was achieved between social cohesion and heritage preservation in order to better enhance the capacities for public heritage management within a respective country.

Through visits, meetings with key French actors in this realm, workshops, round table discussions and field trips, the Palestinian representatives that attended the trip discovered the importance of these kinds of exchanges and now continue to work to improve heritage preservation and promotion within Palestine.
